Services and Medical Management Division of the
Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). The
successful candidate will work with the
department’s Medical Director, Jeff Schiff, and
participate in policy making activities related
to the use of evidence-based health care for the
GAMC, Medicaid and MinnesotaCare populations
(675,000+ Minnesotans).
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position has primary responsibility for
developing evidence-based coverage policy
positions for the consideration of the
department’s physician advisory board, the Health
Services Advisory Council (HSAC). This position
is responsible for coordinating HSAC
deliberations, providing written research reports
on evidence-based health care services to the
HSAC, representing HSAC positions within the
department’s benefit policy decision-making
process, and collaborating with external entities
such as provider associations and national
organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years advanced professional strategic public
program policy development and planning
experience. In order to qualify, this experience
must include: Health Care Policy and Clinical
Research Methodology; County, State, Federal
laws, rules, regulations regarding Medicaid
Policy; Advanced Project management skills;
Advanced writing and presentation skills to
effectively provide medical research reports;
Advanced interpersonal human relation skills to
interact with health care providers, legislators
and advisory council.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Group facilitation skills. Mediation and
collaboration skills. Master/Doctoral level of
education.
