training and exercises, planning, workforce

The goal of the position is to increase community
resiliency and build capacity to respond to a
public health disaster.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health,
Community Health, Nursing, Emergency Preparedness
or related field
• One year experience in emergency
preparedness planning
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or
ability to provide one’s own transportation
to/from meetings
• Ability to deal with people in an
effective, tactful, and courteous manner
• Ability to communicate effectively both
orally and in writing
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Ability to respond to a public health
emergency
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and
PowerPoint
Desirable Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Public Health,
Community Health, Nursing, Emergency Preparedness
or related field
• Additional experience in emergency
planning area, epidemiology and/or health planning
• Working knowledge of city, county, and
state public health systems
• Experience in working with city councils,
county boards, or school boards
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to speak Spanish
Starting Salary: $51,560 - $58,000
annually, D.O.Q., plus excellent fringe benefits
